Frame up restoration completed in 2012, including a repaint with
seven coats of hand rubbed lacquer paint just as the car came
from the factory in September, 1965.
Have a picture of the original invoice/bill of sale from
Grabiak Chevrolet in McKeesport, Pa when the car was sold in
1966. This Ermine white car came from the factory with the
following options: 427 425/450 hp, PS, PB, pwr windows, black
leather, tinted glass, M21 4 sp, side exhaust, and a hazard
warning system.
Have over 30 pages of documentation on the professional
Engine/Transmission rebuild and the parts/services procured
during the three year frame up restoration. Casting numbers and
date codes are available on the rare "961" early 66 corvette
replacement block, the original vintage rectangular port heads,
and the M21 vintage transmission.
GM used two big block castings in 1966-----3855961 and 3869942.
Casting 3855961 was used in very early 1966 corvettes (the
corvette in this ad rolled off the line in September, 1965) and
this corvette's replacement block is the "961" casting.
